Plate heat exchangers for ships are mainly used in cruise ships, liquefied natural gas carriers, container ships and special ships for transporting cars. Some are also applied to luxury tourist ships. It can be said that the application is quite extensive.
The main working conditions of the ship’s plate heat exchanger on the ship include the cooling of the lubricating oil used by the ship’s main engine, called the lubricating oil cooler; and the cooling of the ship’s main generator, main engine and auxiliary machinery, called the central Cooler; and then desalination; it has a wide range of applications in these conditions.
The structure of the plate heat exchanger for ships is the same as other heat exchanger equipment. The sheet of corrosion-resistant metal such as stainless steel, titanium, etc., is flattened and molded by a press with design ripples, and synthetic rubber is used around it. The gasket is sealed to form a "heat transfer plate". The required number of the heat transfer plates are suspended on the guide rods, overlapped between the fixed frame made of steel plate and the movable frame, and fixed by screws. The high-temperature fluid medium and the low-temperature fluid medium alternately flow through the flow path formed between the plates to exchange heat.
Its characteristics are very obvious, mainly because the corrugated sheet has high performance and high heat transfer efficiency; small size, compact overall structure, and does not occupy space; it can be quickly started at any time, and has strong environmental adaptability; easy to maintain and It is very convenient for disassembly and assembly, whether it is to clean or replace the plate gasket.
Because it is an ocean-going operation, all equipment must be stable, and the plate heat exchanger for ships has stable performance, long service life, and easy installation; in addition, the use of special titanium plates can prevent seawater from corroding the plates and extend their use. The cycle, in the long run, saves costs.
