Cases where gasketed plate heat exchangers cannot be used

Author:

1. The use temperature is not suitable for gasketed plate heat exchangers within the range of 250 °C. The design temperature of the heat exchanger mainly depends on the temperature that its sealing gasket can withstand. When using rubber elastic gaskets, the maximum operating temperature is less than 200°C; if the gasket is made of compressed asbestos wool, the maximum operating temperature can reach 250~260°C.

2. It is not suitable for heat exchange of fluids that are easy to block the flow channel. Because the space between the plates of the gasketed heat exchanger is very small, most of which are 3 to 5 mm, if there are relatively large solid particles or fibrous impurities in the heat transfer fluid, it is easy to block the flow channel between the plates.
3. The standard pressure below 2.5MPa is not suitable for the use of plate heat exchangers. The heat exchanger is sealed by a gasket, the sealing perimeter is very long, and the support of the two seals of the corner hole is poor, and the gasket cannot meet the pressing force, so the gasket plate heat exchanger was The maximum working pressure is only 2.5MPa; when the veneer area is more than 1m2, the standard pressure is often lower than 2.5MPa.
