Anticorrosion method of welded plate heat exchanger

Author:

1. Reasonable process design of plate heat exchanger
In order to avoid the retention of residual liquid and deposits, double-sided butt welding and continuous welding should be used as far as possible during welding, and lap welding and spot welding should be avoided. Since the plate is very thin, there is less welding wire added after welding and melting, which is easy to cause poor weld formation. Therefore, 100% of the welding wire should be filled in the welding process to ensure good weld formation.

2. Reduce the aggressiveness of the medium
The medium has different effects on different corrosion systems. For example, austenitic stainless steel is prone to stress corrosion in neutral chloride solution, but stress corrosion will not occur as long as the mass concentration of oxygen in the medium is lower than 1.3 mg/m3. Therefore, stress corrosion can be controlled by removing dissolved oxygen and oxidants in the medium. Reducing the mass concentration of Cl- in the medium and strictly controlling the mass concentration of sulfur in the medium are also effective measures to control stress corrosion.
3. Electrochemical protection method of plate heat exchanger
Stress corrosion cracking is an anodic dissolution process under stress. Therefore, it can be controlled by electrochemical protection. The occurrence of stress corrosion cracking in metals or alloys is related to the potential. Some systems have a critical fracture potential, above which corrosion cracking will occur.
