Classification of heat exchangers

A heat exchanger is a system used to transfer heat between two or more fluids. There are many classification methods of heat exchangers, such as heaters, condensers, etc., according to their uses; according to heat transfer methods, and heat exchange materials.
Generally speaking, if there is no special description, it is all about this kind of detachable gasketed plate heat exchanger. This type of heat exchanger is widely used in biology, food, feed, chemical industry and other fields. Outside the chemical field, its extensiveness even exceeds that of shell-and-tube heat exchangers. The use of gaskets restricts its working temperature and pressure, but its high efficiency and low cost are very popular.
The semi-welded plate heat exchanger is improved on the basis of the gasketed plate heat exchanger. Laser welded channels allow the use of more severe fluids than normal gaskets, such as toxic conditions, and also allow for higher design pressures than full gasketed plate heat exchangers. Although it is semi-welded, the side with the gasket can still be removed. Therefore, it is included in the standard as a removable plate heat exchanger.
